AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Pflugerville City Council approved its $857 million budget for the 2025 fiscal year. This included a property tax rate of $0.5428. The budget was approved at the city council’s meeting on Tuesday.
The average Pflugerville home valued at $364,433 will now pay $1,978.14 a year in city taxes, according to the city of Pflugerville. This will be up $11.96 per month for the 2025 fiscal year compared to the previous year.
The new property tax rate the city of Pflugerville set will be invested into roadway improvements, public safety, parks, trails and essential services. The city said the amount that will be invested will come out to $86.3 million.
The city of Pflugerville said as its population continues to increase throughout the years, the demand for water and wastewater supply will continue to grow. In order to keep up with its growth, Pflugerville is going to spend $170 million to combat drought and supply additional drinking water.
“Through this budget, we provide a plan that is responsive to resident desires and needs,” said
Pflugerville Mayor Victor Gonzales. “Your City Council continues to make substantial
investments in our water and wastewater systems to ensure future generations are able to
prosper.
The city of Pflugerville said the budget was developed with help from workshops, community feedback and the Aspire 2040 strategic plan.
