Want to enjoy a Feb 14 that makes your heart happy? And avoid the over-crazed pre-fixed restaurant scene or Cupid commercialization? Come celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Alamo Drafthouse in a heartful way: watching an oldie-but-goodie, feel-good flick on the big screen – for a good cause!

Aside from having a seat at the best movie house in town, you’ll be supporting our local ALS Association which helps patients and families struggling with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease) – the terminal, neuro-degenative disease my dear dad Ken – whose birthday was on Valentine’s Day – passed away from.

ALS is a treacherous disease for which there is still no cure…but by joining us on Valentine’s Day, you’ll be helping to raise the type of awareness and funds that provide ALS patients and their families with the unique type of hope they need to carry on their fight.

(as Siskel & Ebert used to say…)…see you at the movies!

~Jen

p.s. Every $50 provides an ALS patient with a set of adaptive silverware that allows them to feed themselves far longer than the disease – which progressively paralyzes their entire body – typically allows. So, thanks in advance from the PALS (aka “patients with ALS”) you’ll help!
