PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Officials are investigating after an officer with the Pflugerville Police Department was involved in a shooting that sent one person to the hospital.
According to a city of Pflugerville spokesperson, the shooting happened near the intersection of Loyola Lane and Wentworth Drive. That’s near Lake Walter E. Long.
Around 6:15 p.m., narcotics officers with PPD were attempting to conduct a traffic stop when a suspect “became combative” and tried to steal an unmarked police vehicle, officials told KXAN at the scene. Then, an officer shot the suspect.
That officer was placed on administrative leave, per standard procedure with PPD.
