AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two Texas attractions are honoring students and teachers with free admission after a long school year.
Typhoon Texas waterpark in Pflugerville is recognizing students with good grades for a few days this week, and teachers will be celebrated the whole month of June at the San Antonio Zoo.
Here are the details of the events and how you can qualify.
‘Great Grades Days’ at Typhoon Texas
Students who earned three “A” grades or more on their most recent report card can enjoy free admission to the Pflugerville waterpark June 4-6.
Typhoon Texas said to bring your most recent report card to the ticket window along with a valid school ID matching the report card. A parent with a valid ID must accompany students with no school ID.
“Typhoon Texas is proud to recognize the hard work and dedication of our high-achieving scholars,” said Tyler Ward, general manager for Typhoon Texas, in a statement. “Rewarding academic success is not only important for the individual students but also for fostering a culture that values learning and achievement.”
In addition to the free entry, you could get $5 off for friends and family, up to six people. These tickets can be bought at the ticket window, and the qualifying student must be present, according to Typhoon Texas.
The waterpark is located at 18500 TX-130 North Service Road in Pflugerville. Park gates will be open during Great Grades Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Teacher Appreciation Month at San Antonio Zoo
The San Antonio Zoo is recognizing teachers during the month of June by giving them a free standard admission ticket. Active Texas teachers must provide proof of eligibility, according to the zoo.
In addition to free entry, the zoo said it’s also offering 50% off any day tickets for up to four guests of the teacher on the day of their visit.
The offer goes through June 30. More details can be found on the zoo’s website.
